Clarity in chaos.
The world is random, complicated, fragile and misunderstood. 2 & 20 exists to explain the part of it that can actually be explained: the incentives, the money, and the decisions that made an outcome almost unavoidable long before it made the news.
The origin
2 & 20 started as an argument between two brothers about why nobody was explaining the mechanics. There was plenty of coverage telling you what had happened and plenty of commentary telling you how to feel about it. Almost nothing walked you through the specifics or the nitty gritty.
So we started making the videos we wanted to watch. One event, taken apart carefully, until the underlying system is visible. Why a currency broke. Why a housing market cannot clear. Why a country with enormous natural wealth still cannot pay its bills.
Today the channel has 304K subscribers and 28M lifetime views, built almost entirely on long-form work that asks the viewer for twenty minutes of real attention.
